Every piece at Starchive is examined in hand and authenticated before it is ever listed. If it does not pass, it is not sold.
- Inspected in hand. Every piece is physically examined by our team, never authenticated from photos alone.
- Third-party verified. Every piece is also verified by an independent authentication specialist before it is approved.
- Guaranteed for life. If a piece is ever shown not to be authentic, we refund you in full, shipping included.
Where our pieces come from
We buy and consign from collectors and clients, many of whom we have worked with for years, and we ask about the history of every piece. A good history supports a piece, but it never replaces the inspection.
Examined by specialists
Our team has handled thousands of pieces from the houses we carry. Every piece is examined in person, looking at materials, stamps and hallmarks, construction, labels, and hardware, and compared against verified authentic examples from our own archive.
Independent third-party verification
After our own inspection, every piece is verified by an independent third-party authentication specialist with no stake in the sale. It is approved only when both agree, with no exceptions.
If a piece does not pass
We decline it and return it to the seller. It is never listed and never sold.
Condition and photography
Every approved piece is graded, measured, and photographed in our studio. The photos on each listing are of the exact piece you will receive, with any wear shown and described.
Our guarantee
If a piece you bought from us is ever shown not to be authentic, by the brand or a recognized third-party authentication service, we will refund the full price you paid, including shipping. See our refund policy for details.
